Florida statute requires offenders to live 1000 feet from schools, parks and playgrounds. Counties and cities can have their own seperate ordiances. The city of Orlando adapted the restrisction to 1500 feet effective 7/1/2013.  If the residence is not within the city of Orlando's jurisdiition then the 1000 foot restriction applies. It's important to know if if a residence is within the city of Orlando or the County of Orange so that you understand the proper restriction that will be applicable.  Residency restrictions began October 2004 so many offenses committed prior to that date due not fall under these residency restrictions.
