Re-registrations

After an initial registration the question of the next registration comes up.  If you have any change whatsoever, then that's when you go in to register the new information again.

Even when information does not change, offenders are required to re-register at regular intervals.  Those designated as sexual predators will do so every three months.  Those designated as sexual offenders will do do every six months.

Regardless of when you originally register or when you report a change, re-registrations are based around the month of your birthday.  Every offender will be required to re-register on the month of their birthday.  You may very well end up back at registration the very next month simply because of when your birthday falls.

Sexual predators will do on a schedule that includes their birthday month and every third month that follows their birthday.  It doesn't start on your birthday month.  Your birthday month is just used to determine the four months of the year regular reregistrations are required.

Sexual offenders will do on a schedule that includes their birthday month and the sixth month that follows their birthday.  It doesn't start on your birthday month.  Your birthday month is just used to determine the two months of the year regular reregistrations are required.

Re-Registrations are most definately redundant.  You are merely reporting in and verifying nothing has changed, because if something had changed you'd already be out of complience if you didn't report it.  Nontheless offenders reporting every six months and predators reporting every three months seems to make the feel that they haven't lost track of the offender.  In reality the only important verification is done with compliece checks and the frequency of those checks has nothing to do with the frequencey of the registrant's re-registrations.

Transient re-registrations

Effective 101//2014 Transients (aka homeless) must re-register every month.  The process is no different than any other re-registration that pedadors already do every three months and offenders already do every six months.  For the very reasons that re-registrations are required at all, it's felt that they are losing track of transient offenders if they don't require them to come in each and every month.  In reality the only important t verification is no different than how it's done for those registering regular pemanent addresses.  It's done with compliece checks and the frequency of those checks has nothing to do with the frequencey of the registrant's re-registrations.

When in the month must a re-registration be done?

There is no specific date of the month that the re-registraions must be done by.  The only requirement is that it be done before that month ends.  So while you have till the end of the day on the last day of the month, bear in mind that registrations may not be done every day of the month and waiting till the last minute might result in the oregistration office being busier than you expected.  Our advise is to treat it as though it's due on the first.  That gives you over four weeks to allow for unforseeable situations.  If you fail to register on the month it's due it is a felony.
